The hotel
Blocks stacked on the Palm.
Kohn Pedersen Fox drew the hotel as a stack of offset blocks, forty-three storeys high on the outer crescent of the Palm, joined high up by a sky bridge. The blocks break the mass into terraces, so the rooms look out over the Arabian Sea on one side and back across the Palm to the Dubai skyline on the other.
It opened in February 2023 and has collected a long list of awards since: three MICHELIN Keys, the guide's award for architecture and design, and sixth place in The World's 50 Best Hotels 2025. Below the towers lie a long private beach, a spa of nearly an acre, and seventeen restaurants and bars, several of them from chefs with restaurants elsewhere.
- Cloud 22 The infinity pool and bar on the twenty-second floor, for adults over 21, with the Palm on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other.
- The Royal Beach What the hotel calls the largest continuous stretch of private beach in Dubai, with the Royal Pool and its cabanas just behind.
- AWAKEN Nearly an acre given over to the spa, with a sauna, a hammam and treatment rooms.
