The hotel
A Canary Islands group on Bávaro Beach.
Lopesan, the hotel group from Gran Canaria, opened Costa Bávaro on Playa Bávaro in May 2019. It was built big from the start: 1,042 rooms, all junior suites of about 55 square metres, laid out in three zones, one for families, one for adults and a premium club with its own pool, bars and beach club. The whole site faces the sand of Bávaro Beach.
The pools are the heart of it. There are seven, all freshwater, and the central infinity pool falls over two levels towards the sea. In July 2026 Lopesan opened three more resorts on the plot next door, Caoba Lagoon, Splash Cove for families and Serenity Bay for adults, while Costa Bávaro carried on under its own name, still the largest of the four.
