The hotel
Live Aqua's first resort outside Mexico.
Live Aqua began in Mexico, a brand of the hotel group Posadas. Punta Cana was its first resort abroad, and it opened on 1 February 2021 on the northern stretch of Uvero Alto, with 347 suites in eight categories. A long linear pool runs from the buildings down to the beach, and there are Zen gardens between the blocks. The resort is all inclusive.
The rooms are done in sand tones, all of them suites, with standalone tubs, twin rainfall showers and Molton Brown products. Water takes up a good part of the site: five communal pools and eight swim-up pools outside the ground-floor suites, with an infinity pool facing the sea, nearly 9,000 square metres in all. Forbes Travel Guide lists it as Recommended for 2026.
