The hotel
Named for a goddess.
City of Dreams opened on 1 June 2009, and this tower was part of it from the start, as Crown Towers. When the Australian group Crown Resorts left the partnership with Melco, the hotel took a new name in 2018: Nüwa, after the heroine of Chinese myth who mended the sky. It then closed for about a year and reopened on 31 March 2021, fully refurbished.
The lobby rises seven metres, hung with embroidered wall coverings with bronze detail and screens of woven metal, around a bamboo forest; the hotel also shows The Couple, a large bronze by Wang Keping. Rooms start at 60 square metres, with marble bathrooms, deep tubs and rain showers. Of the 33 villas, the Nüwa Villas fill floors 28 to 33, with a VIP butler.
- Nüwa Spa Treatments built on the five elements of Chinese thought, with wet facilities and a salon, rated Five-Star by Forbes in 2026.
- Jade Dragon Cantonese cooking with three MICHELIN stars, held for the eighth year in 2026, on Level 2 of City of Dreams.
- Crystal Club Breakfast on the 25th floor for hotel guests, looking over Taipa and the wetland.
