The hotel
Offices turned into a Roman address.
For years the building on Via dell'Umiltà held company offices. Shedir Collection, which also runs Hotel Vilòn and Maalot nearby, spent more than eighteen months on the conversion. The CaberlonCaroppi studio kept the original ceiling heights and the marble staircase. The hotel opened in the summer of 2022, the group's third in Rome, with 28 rooms and suites and 19 apartments over several floors.
The interiors look back to the 1950s: wood panelling on the ceilings, Liberty-style wallpaper in blue, and furniture in the spirit of Gio Ponti, with contemporary art on the walls. The street is a side turning off Via del Corso. Some of the suites have terraces over the rooftops of the centre. The Trevi Fountain is a few minutes away on foot, and the Pantheon not much further.
- Dandy Café The lobby lounge, modelled on an eighteenth-century literary café, for lunch, dinner, tea, wine and cocktails.
- Aquamarina The newer restaurant, given over to fish and seafood.
- Apartments Nineteen apartments with a living room and kitchen, marble bathrooms and rain showers, for longer stays in the centre.
