The hotel
A palazzo that doubles as a gallery.
The First Arte occupies a nineteenth-century palazzo that once belonged to a Roman noble family, on Via del Vantaggio, a short street off Via del Corso. Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps are both within walking distance. The hotel is run by The Pavilions, and Studio Marincola oversaw the interiors. Rooms and suites run from 25 to 100 square metres, the largest sleeping six.
Art is the theme. Paintings and sculpture by Italian artists, some established and some starting out, hang in the rooms and corridors, and every piece is for sale. Bathrooms are in Emperador marble. A library of art books lines the lobby, and the concierge can arrange private gallery visits. On the roof, a garden and the AcquaRoof lounge look out over the city.
- Acquolina Daniele Lippi's seafood tasting menus hold two MICHELIN stars in the 2026 guide.
- AcquaRoof The roof garden and lounge, for breakfast, cocktails and light plates with the city at sunset.
- Art to take home Every artwork in the hotel can be bought.
