The hotel
Above the Baths of Diocletian.
Piazza della Repubblica follows the curve of the great exedra of the Baths of Diocletian. From 1887 Gaetano Koch closed it with two matching neoclassical palazzi, and the hotel fills one of them, together with a wing that Pope Clement XI built as a granary in 1705. In the basement, glass floors look down onto foundations and mosaics of the third century.
The building opened as a hotel in 2003, designed by Maurizio Papiri and Adam D. Tihany, and was known for years as the Boscolo Exedra. It became Palazzo Naiadi in 2018 and later joined Anantara. Some suites look straight onto the Fountain of the Naiads and the remains of the baths. On the roof, SEEN serves dinner and aperitivo with the domes of Rome all around.
- Roman ruins below Remains of the Baths of Diocletian, with third-century foundations and mosaics, are visible through glass floors in the basement.
- The roof SEEN restaurant and a terrace bar look over the rooftops of Rome. There is also a seasonal outdoor pool.
- Anantara Spa A gym, sauna, steam rooms and a jacuzzi, and a couples' suite with its own infrared sauna.
