The hotel
From bank to hotel.
Marcello Piacentini designed the building in 1914, and the Bank of Italy used it for much of the twentieth century. The building has seven storeys and about 9,700 square metres. Reuben Brothers bought it in 2019, and a restoration of several years kept the marble panelling, the frescoes and the carved woodwork across seven storeys, a short walk from the Pantheon and Piazza Navona.
Corinthia, founded in Malta in the 1960s, opened its first Italian hotel here on 9 March 2026. G.A Group designed the new interiors, with plaster friezes of the plane trees along the Tiber. The bank's council chamber is now a suite under its 1920s frescoes by Giulio Bargellini, and the vault below ground holds the spa, with two bathing pools in the old strongroom. Carlo Cracco runs the kitchens, his first in Rome.
- Carlo Cracco in Rome The Milan chef's first restaurant in the city, Viride, with a tasting menu of ten courses or à la carte.
- The vault spa Two bathing pools, a Finnish sauna, a steam room and three treatment rooms on mosaic floors in the old bank vault.
- On foot The Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps are each about ten minutes away.
