The hotel
Triana's first grand hotel.
The Sevillian architect Ramón Balbuena y Huertas, a pupil of Aníbal González, designed this corner building in 1924. It is regionalist Seville in miniature: exposed brick, pillars, wrought-iron balconies and the ceramic tiles of Triana. Enrique Orce also had a hand in it. The building has kept that character through the decades, and the hotel restaurant, with its own street door, now carries the architect's name.
Cavalta opened in 2023, the first luxury hotel on the Triana side of the Guadalquivir. Until then the city's grand hotels kept to the cathedral and the Alcázar. Inside, the twelve rooms have wooden floors, bare brick walls and bold patterned headboards. In 2025 the house joined Hidden Hotels, a small Spanish collection founded by Carmen Cordón and Ignacio Jiménez, and the MICHELIN Guide gave it a Key the same year.
- Alzalí Garden Club A planted roof terrace with a pool, a solarium and a cocktail bar, looking over the rooftops of Triana; live music on some evenings.
- Balbuena y Huertas The ground-floor restaurant, with its own street door, serves updated Andalusian dishes from 1 pm to midnight without a break.
- Triana The hotel keeps the bohemian air of the district, known as the birthplace of flamenco, across the river from the cathedral and the Alcázar.
