The hotel

Up on Naguru Hill.

Naguru is one of the hills on the east side of Kampala, a well-off residential district above the centre. Protea Hotels Uganda built Skyz there as its third hotel in the country, after the Protea on Kololo and the one in Entebbe. It opened its doors in October 2018 and was launched officially on 28 May 2019.

The name comes from the top of the building. The Roof Terrace on the sixth floor carries a bar with a view across the city, and Marriott lists four rooftop bars in all. Below them are 141 rooms, from standard rooms up to a single Presidential Suite, and enough meeting space for a conference.
