The hotel
Rooms with a kitchen on Nsambya Hill.
Mestil opened in December 2017 on Barracks Drive, on Nsambya Hill, a short way south of the city centre. The site holds three apartment blocks, a main building with the lobby, restaurant and meeting rooms, and a clubhouse with the pool, spa and gym, set among gardens and fountains. The hotel looks out across the surrounding hills to the city skyline.
It was built for long stays as much as short ones. Every unit, from the executive rooms to the three-bedroom penthouses, has a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave and stove. Embassies and Nsambya Hospital are close by, and in the national grading published in 2026 the Uganda Tourism Board rated the hotel four stars.
- Sanaar Spa Three massage rooms and one for couples, with a sauna and steam bath in the clubhouse.
- Pool and gardens An outdoor pool with its own bar, a pool for children, and garden paths between the blocks.
