The hotel
A house on the dune.
Söl'ring Hof sits on the dune above Rantum, at the narrow waist of the island, where the North Sea beach and the Wadden Sea mudflats lie a short walk apart. For more than twenty years it was the house of the chef Johannes King, who was brought in while it was still being built. At the end of 2019 it joined the Hommage Luxury Hotels Collection.
Jan-Philipp Berner has run the kitchen since 2013 and took over the hotel as managing director and co-owner on 1 January 2022. The restaurant holds two MICHELIN stars, with Jan Fehling as head chef, and cooks from what Sylt and the sea around it provide. Upstairs, many of the rooms have a fireplace or a terrace onto the dunes.
- Two stars on the dune Creative cooking with a Nordic bent, served Tuesday to Saturday from half past six.
- Fire and sea air Suites and some rooms have an open fireplace; others have a terrace with a Sylt beach chair.
- Seven kilometres of sand Rantum's beach runs below the dune, and the mudflats are on the other side of the village.
