The hotel
One roof over the captains' village.
Keitum is the old captains' village of Sylt, on the eastern shore where the Wadden Sea runs out to the mainland. Severin's took almost twelve years to plan and was finished in 2014, on a site of about 30,000 square metres at the edge of the village. The Zech Group built it and still runs it.
The form follows the Frisian farmhouse, pulled out into five angled wings. A single thatched roof covers them all, about 5,000 square metres of reed and one of the largest in Europe. Rooms are in the main house, with apartments, garden suites and a villa in five smaller houses nearby.
- The spa About 2,000 square metres, with a 16 metre pool under a glass roof, five saunas and a hammam.
- SPA suites Suites with a Finnish sauna of their own, for days when the weather stays grey.
- Cellar and cigars A wine cellar that hosts private tastings, and a lounge set aside for smokers.
