The hotel
A hotel on the old ski jump.
In the 1960s the ski champion Emile Allais put up an Olympic ski jump at the top of the Jardin Alpin, the highest part of Courchevel 1850. Allais was an early champion of piste grooming and invented the ski patrol, and the road to the hotel carries his name. L'Apogée was built on the site of the jump and opened in December 2013, at the edge of the Vanoise National Park.
The hotel belongs to Oetker Collection. Joseph Dirand designed the public rooms; India Mahdavi did the bedrooms, suites and chalets in warm colours and soft fabrics. In 2019 the hotel was named a Palace. For the 2025 season Kelly Wearstler added a new living space, her first project in Europe, and Beefbar arrived for the evenings. At the top of the building, the penthouse sleeps nine.
