The hotel
Eighty-four floors up, and climbing.
The Shanghai Tower rises 632 metres over Lujiazui, the tallest building in China. Its upper floors were fitted out for Jin Jiang International, the state-owned group whose initial gives the hotel its name, and after delays caused in part by the pandemic the hotel opened in June 2021. At the time only the Burj Khalifa stood taller anywhere in the world.
The hotel takes floors 84 to 105, with the pool on the lowest of them, a ballroom of 422 square metres on the 105th and the restaurant Heavenly Jin at the very top, on the 120th. There are seven restaurants and bars in all. Each room has a Chinese tea set and a bath shaped like a magnolia petal.
- Heavenly Jin The restaurant on the 120th floor, the highest point of the hotel and one of seven places to eat and drink.
- A butler for everyone Every guest has a personal butler, on call at any hour.
- Pool on 84 The swimming pool sits on the 84th floor, the lowest of the hotel, with a spa and a gym.
