The hotel
A hotel inside a flame.
The three Flame Towers rise on the hill above the Old City, drawn by the American practice HOK and built from 2007. Their curved glass recalls Azerbaijan's old name, the Land of Fire, and after dark more than ten thousand LED lights turn the façades into moving flames, the national flag or rising water. The tallest reaches 182 metres. The Fairmont occupies one of the three.
From the rooms the view runs down over the rooftops of Icherisheher to Baku Bay. Inside there is marble in the lobby, a crystal chandelier of long strands and a Fazioli piano. Rooms are in earth tones, with floor-to-ceiling windows, deep tubs and Le Labo products. Forbes Travel Guide rates the hotel Four-Star for 2026, and the MICHELIN Guide includes it in its Baku selection.
- Carol Joy Spa Two floors, fourteen treatment rooms, a hammam and an indoor pool open all year.
- Sky Garden An outdoor pool on the fifth floor with a sun deck over the sea, open from June, with the H2O Pool Bar beside it.
- Bar19 Tapas, sushi and grills on the nineteenth floor, with the city at your feet.
