The city
Many towns, one basin.
Los Angeles is a string of towns between the mountains and the Pacific. Downtown has its towers and concert halls, Hollywood sits under its hills, Beverly Hills and Bel Air keep to their palms and gardens, and Santa Monica and Malibu face the ocean.
There is no bad month. Winter days are around 20 °C, with most of the year's rain between November and March; summer is dry and reaches 29–30 °C in July and August. The Pacific stays cool, at 14–19 °C off Santa Monica.
