The hotel
Hyatt's address in Baku since the 1990s.
Hyatt came to Baku in May 1995, when the first Hyatt Regency opened as the city's first international five-star hotel. A second building followed in 1999 on the site of an old bus terminal: 159 rooms, opened as the Park Hyatt, inside a complex with apartments, offices and a health club. The original Regency has since closed, and the hotel that carries the name today is that 1999 building.
It was renovated in 2016 and keeps its low profile: eight floors, set back among gardens in the centre of town, a few minutes by car from the government offices. Rooms start at 45 square metres, and some open onto balconies over the garden or the street. Club rooms come with lounge access and an espresso machine. Behind the building, the garden holds the outdoor pool, and there is a second pool indoors for the colder months.
