The hotel
The Kilimandjaro, rebuilt.
For about fifteen years the Hôtel Kilimandjaro stood here, near the altiport at the top of Courchevel 1850. Philippe and Suzanne Capezzone, the couple behind Le K2 Palace, took the site and rebuilt it as a family project, and Le K2 Altitude opened as a five-star in mid-December 2016. Both hotels sit within Le K2 Collections, the family's group in the resort.
The plan is a small hamlet of chalets on an 8,000 square metre plot along the Pralong piste, turned fully to the south with the whole resort in view. Inside there is old wood, warm fabrics and open fires. A pool and spa, a hair salon, a cinema room and a ski shop sit within the same group of buildings, and at opening the rooms ran from 27 to 85 square metres.
- L'Altitude The hotel's restaurant holds one MICHELIN star for French cooking, served at dinner.
- Pool and spa An indoor pool, a sauna and treatments, with a beauty salon alongside.
- Facing south The chalets look straight down over Courchevel 1850, with the Pralong piste beside them.
