The hotel
An Aman on the piste.
Le Mélézin opened in December 1992 on the Bellecôte piste, just above the village of Courchevel 1850. From the outside it reads as a French Alpine château. Inside, the walls and ceilings are lined in cedar and the rooms follow the spare style typical of Aman, with floor-to-ceiling windows onto the forest, the village or the run.
In 2016 the building was raised to make room for two new duplex floors, and the next winter, for its twenty-fifth season, a spa of 767 square metres and a Japanese restaurant opened in them. Alongside the 14-metre pool came a hammam modelled on Ottoman bathhouses, a cold-water pool and a yoga studio. The skiing starts a few metres from the door, on 600 kilometres of groomed pistes across the Trois Vallées.

Getting there
Flying to Courchevel.
Geneva and Lyon Saint-Exupéry are the airports for scheduled flights, each about two and a half hours by road. Private jets usually land at Chambéry, 110 kilometres away, and a helicopter takes about 25 minutes from there to the altiport, a few minutes by car from the hotel.
