The hotel
Fifty years of suites on Burton Way.
The building went up in 1975 as condominiums. A year later the brothers Severyn and Arnold Ashkenazy opened it as a hotel, and by its own account it was the first all-suite hotel in the United States. After a sale in 1994 it closed for a rebuild of $65 million and reopened in 1998, later run by Raffles and then by Viceroy.
Since October 2021 it has been independent again, under its own name. The suites were refreshed in 2017 and the ninth-floor roof and pool redone after that. The MICHELIN Guide calls it the only independent luxury hotel in Beverly Hills, with mid-century interiors, Venetian cut-glass mirrors and tones of champagne and metal. Costa Covo Osteria serves coastal Italian food on the lobby level, and the L'Ermitage Suite on the seventh floor runs to about 344 square metres.
- On the roof The ninth-floor pool, redone in the recent works, and Poza, the rooftop lounge, open to visitors since May 2025.
- Wellness Ricari Studio for lymphatic drainage, a studio for the facialist Joanna Czech, and a yoga and fitness studio.
- Rodeo Drive on foot The shops are about five minutes' walk away, from a residential corner of Beverly Hills.
