The city
Work, fashion and design.
The Duomo and the glass roof of the Galleria open onto the same square; La Scala is a short walk north, and the streets of the Quadrilatero della Moda hold the flagship houses of Italian fashion. Courtyards, cloisters and gardens hide behind the doors of Brera and Porta Venezia.
April brings the furniture fair, September the Grand Prix at Monza and the fashion shows, and both fill hotels and aircraft parking early. July and September are the driest warm months, with days of 24 to 29 °C.
Arriving
Malpensa for the world, Linate for the city.
Two airports serve the city. Malpensa, 45 kilometres north-west, carries the long-haul flights; Linate sits seven kilometres from the centre, with the business aviation terminal most visitors use.
