The hotel
A family house turned into a gallery.
Villa Franca was a private home before it was a hotel, and it has stayed with one family. Small Luxury Hotels says the family has worked in Positano tourism since the early 1940s. Rosa Taddeo, the third generation, now runs it with her husband Massimo, and has filled the house with contemporary art, by Antonio Sannino, Marco Grassi and Seo Young-Deok among others.
The building climbs six floors up the cliff on Viale Pasitea, the road that winds above the old village, with the sea below every terrace. Inside are white marble, vaulted ceilings and large windows, with bold colour in some rooms and plain silver and white in others. At the top, the GOLD Sky Pool Club looks over the whole bay of Positano.
- GOLD Sky Pool Club A heated pool on the roof, with a bar and restaurant and views across the village and the sea.
- Li Galli Dinner only, with one MICHELIN star in the 2026 Italian guide, under executive chef Savio Perna.
- O'SPA Sothys treatments, a hammam, steam room and hot tub, with a gym and personal trainers.
