The hotel
Two houses on the Oia cliff.
Katikies has stood on the caldera at Oia since the late 1980s, and turned 38 in 2025. It was built in the manner of the old cliff dwellings, white and modernist, with terraces stacked one below the other about a hundred metres above the water. Pelagos House is the original, ten metres from the square of St George, its steps running down from the village street.
Gea House, at the far edge of Oia, was formerly Katikies Kirini. It is the calmer of the two, with the spa and wide open views of the volcano. Each house held one MICHELIN Key in 2025. Travel + Leisure named Katikies the best hotel in Greece in 2023, and Condé Nast Traveler readers did the same in 2026. Guests must be 13 or older.
- Pools on the rock The heated main pool is open from 11 am to 7 pm, and two more pools from 8 am to 4 pm, all looking over the caldera.

- Arrival Check-in from 3 pm, check-out by 11 am. Every room has a private veranda over the caldera, and the better suites have a loft bedroom.
- Children Guests from 13 only. Families with younger children are directed to Katikies Garden in Fira.
- Pools The main pool is heated. The jetted tubs are kept at about 23 °C, weather permitting.

Flying to Santorini.
Santorini International is about 18 kilometres away, roughly 30 to 40 minutes by car, our estimate, and the port is a similar distance. Private jets use the same airport, with parking authorised before landing.
