The hotel
The Asteria, reopened.
In the 1950s and 1960s the Asteria beach club at Glyfada was one of the best-known resorts on the Athens coast. One&Only, with Grivalia Hospitality, took the site and its 21 hectares of pine forest and beach, and opened its first Greek resort here on 11 November 2023. Olive trees from the old grounds were replanted around the new buildings, and the resort now counts 127 keys.
AUDO, A6Architects and K-Studio drew the architecture, and Muza Lab the interiors: mid-century lines, pale timber, native stone and floor-to-ceiling glass. A main building holds the rooms. The rest is bungalows and waterfront villas, many with a private garden, pool and fireplace. The largest, Villa One, covers 1,400 square metres and has a 25-metre pool. The Guerlain Spa, the first in Greece, lies within the grounds.

Rooms are in the main building. Bungalows and villas sit among olive trees, many with their own garden, pool and outdoor shower.

- In the gardens Aesthesis Bungalow with Pool 41 square metres with a private pool, facing the garden or the sea. Each bungalow has its own host.

- On the water Villa One 1,400 square metres, of which 922 are outdoors, with a 25-metre pool, a seafront Jacuzzi and a sunken lounge round a fire pit.

Athens International, for airlines and private jets, is about 35 to 45 minutes away by car, our estimate. Private aircraft clear in the general aviation terminal, and a car takes the road down to the Athenian Riviera at Glyfada.
