The hotel
A 1960s resort on the Laimos peninsula.
The Astir company was set up in 1954 to build a resort on the Laimos peninsula at Vouliagmeni, and four Greek architects drew the plans in 1958. The first seaside bungalows opened in the early 1960s. The Arion hotel followed in 1967 and the Nafsika in 1979, both stepped down the slope so that their balconies face the Saronic Gulf. The land had belonged to a monastery, and the beach was restored in 1959.
After a full renovation the resort reopened on 29 March 2019 as the first Four Seasons in Greece. Meyer Davis Studio did the interiors and Thomas Doxiadis the landscape, across thirty hectares of pines and rocky coves. The Astir Marina, with berths for superyachts, sits alongside. Central Athens and the Acropolis are about half an hour away by car, and the sixty-one seaside bungalows were renovated in the same works.
- Three private beaches Coves around the peninsula for hotel guests, with a saltwater pool, water sports and a pool and beach bar.
- Pelagos Contemporary Mediterranean seafood under head chef Luca Piscazzi, with one MICHELIN star.
- For families A supervised kids club, a space for teenagers and an open-air cinema, with a tennis academy on the estate.
