The hotel
Above the sea at Om El Sid.
The Royal Grand stands on the plateau of Om El Sid, the high ground on the town side of Sharm El Sheikh. From the edge, the view runs over the Red Sea to Tiran Island. Below the resort is its own beach, 400 metres of sand and coral, with a bar and a restaurant on the shore. The rooms and suites all have a private balcony or terrace.
Pickalbatros runs it for adults only, and the hotel describes it as a resort for couples. There are five pools, a spa and a gym, a padel court and mini golf. The bazaars of Sharm El Sheikh are about fifteen minutes away by car, and the Il Mercato shopping street is closer still. In the evening the Olympus Bar stays open until midnight.
