The hotel
The count's house on Santo Domingo.
The house was built in the eighteenth century for the Count of Pestagua, on the model of Moorish palaces. It stands on Calle de Santo Domingo, beside the plaza of the same name, inside the walls that UNESCO lists as a World Heritage site. Arcades run round a planted courtyard, and the suites climb to terraces above the rooftops, where the view runs over the old city to the Caribbean.
After a renovation of about fifteen million dollars, the hotel reopened in 2023 with five new suites, a refurbished lobby, bar and gym, and a redesigned restaurant. It belongs to Relais & Châteaux and is the sister of Casa San Agustín, also in the walled city. The MICHELIN Guide gives it two Keys in the 2026 selection, as it did in 2025.
- The courtyard A swimming pool among the plants of the central patio, with a pond in the garden and the arcades for shade.
- Roof terraces The suites have private lift access and a terrace with a jacuzzi looking over the old city to the Caribbean.
- Anima The restaurant under the arcades cooks Colombian Caribbean food in a modern way, with a cocktail bar alongside.
