The hotel
A colonial house inside the walls.
Cinco Quintas stands on Calle del Porvenir in the walled city of Cartagena, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The house was restored along the lines of colonial domestic building, keeping its double-height ceilings and arches, and the rooms open around a central courtyard. Contemporary furniture sits against the old walls, and the roof was given over to a terrace and pool looking out over the old town.
The MICHELIN Guide listed the hotel in 2025, then gave it its first Key in September 2026, one of four Colombian hotels to receive a Key for the first time that year. It belongs to the By SOHO collection, and its restaurant, Apogeo, is run by the head chef Eduardo Ghisays. There are two heated pools in the house, one of them on the roof, and live music in the restaurant on Friday and Saturday nights.
- The roof A terrace and pool above the walled city, with drinks and a view over the Ciudad Vieja.
- Apogeo Eduardo Ghisays cooks Mediterranean dishes with Latin flavours, with live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
- A pool of your own The Suite Principal, with two bedrooms over 104 square metres, has its own terrace and private pool.
