The hotel
A Moorish bazaar at the edge of Tivoli.
Vilhelm and Louise Nimb, a Copenhagen couple who made their name in food, opened Nimb in 1909. The building was drawn by Knud Arne Petersen, who was director of Tivoli at the time, and he gave it a Moorish front that still faces the gardens today. For almost a hundred years it was a place to eat and to dance, with restaurants and a ballroom, and no bedrooms at all.
That changed in 2008, when the building was renovated and its first guest rooms were added. In November 2017 a contemporary annex brought 21 more, for 38 in all. A roof terrace of 1,300 square metres followed in May 2018, with a heated outdoor pool, and in September the wellness floor opened with a Moroccan hammam. The old ballroom is now the Nimb Bar.
- Tivoli below the window All rooms but one look over the gardens, so the rides and the lights of the gardens are part of the view.
- The roof A heated outdoor pool and pool bar on a terrace of 1,300 square metres, open to hotel guests and Nimb Club members.
- Nimb Wellness Three hundred square metres with a Moroccan hammam, a steam room, a gym and a relaxation area.
