The hotel
Santo Maris, renamed and grown.
For years this was Santo Maris Oia Luxury Suites & Spa, on the north-western edge of Oia. In 2023 it reopened as Santo Pure, part of the newly launched Santo Collection of hotels on the island. The look stayed with the black lava and white of Santorini, set among planted gardens, and the lanes of the village are about five minutes away on foot.
That June the design studio LAB 11 added twenty suites in dark grey, basalt, ochre, volcanic ash and white lime, with solid wood, bringing the total to 83 suites and two villas. They are grouped into garden neighbourhoods, each built around one of six pools. Every suite has its own veranda, with either a heated jacuzzi or a private pool, and the spa adds a heated indoor pool.
