The hotel

Carved into the Oia cliff.

The hotel drops down the caldera wall below Nikolaou Nomikou, the main street of Oia, at the north-western tip of the island, and is reached by stone steps from the lane. Its suites are cut straight into the rock face, so every one looks out over the caldera and the Aegean. The Andronis group, which runs several hotels in Oia, has recently renovated all twenty-four suites and villas.

Each suite has a private terrace, with its own infinity pool or a hot tub, and two shared pools sit on the cliff edge with a bar beside them. Lauda, the restaurant on the terrace, has been in Oia since 1971, by the account of one travel company the first restaurant in the village. In October 2026 it gained one MICHELIN star in the new Greek guide.

  • Pools on the edge A private pool or hot tub for each suite, and two shared pools on the cliff edge with a pool bar.
  • Lauda Breakfast, lunch and dinner over the caldera, with one MICHELIN star in the 2027 Greek guide. Book the Chef's Table ahead.
  • Mare Sanus spa A few steps away at Andronis Luxury Suites, cut into the cliff, with treatments using plant-based products.
