The hotel
Le Corbusier on the cliff.
The villa was built in 1920 for Emilio Errico Vismara, an engineer from Lombardy, who asked the young Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, later Le Corbusier, to design it. Writing in Domus in 1937, the architect called it an emanation of the rock. During the Second World War it served as an American headquarters, and Winston Churchill and Dwight Eisenhower both stayed. The building still keeps its original arches.
Count Manfredi bought the house in 1968, and it opened as a hotel in 1973. It stands at the end of Via Tragara, a pedestrian lane about fifteen minutes on foot from the Piazzetta, with the Faraglioni rocks straight ahead. The suites take their names from the island: Monacone, Certosa, Faraglioni. In 2019 the architect Giorgia Dennerlein reworked the building's volumes, and Etro later furnished the rooftop Pegaso Suite.
- The Faraglioni view The hotel faces the three rocks across the water, and every suite looks out over them and the bay.
- Two heated pools Set into the garden terraces, with The Grill serving lunch beside them.
- Le Monzù Chef Antonio Pedana's restaurant, which holds one MICHELIN star in the 2026 Italian guide.

Flying to Amalfi.
Capri has no airport. Scheduled and private flights land at Naples, where a car takes you to the port for the ferry to Marina Grande, about fifty minutes on a fast boat by our estimate. From the harbour the funicular climbs to the Piazzetta, and the hotel is a fifteen-minute walk beyond along Via Tragara.
