The hotel
From the road down to the sea.
The lawyer Aldo Capilongo founded Le Agavi in the 1960s on a cliff outside the centre of Positano, and his son Giovanni carried the project on. Reception sits about two hundred metres above the water, on the coast road. Everything else steps downwards: rooms, suites, restaurant and pool, terrace by terrace, to the sea. Every room was given a terrace facing the bay.
A private funicular, lifts and stairs link the levels. At the bottom is Remmese Beach House, the hotel's beach club, with sunbeds, a bar, a restaurant and access to small coves along the shore. From the terraces the whole bay of Positano is in view, and the village is a short shuttle ride away. The pool, built in the 1970s, sits high on the property.
- Remmese Beach House Sunbeds, a beach bar and a seaside restaurant at the foot of the cliff, reached by funicular or lift.
- A 1970s pool An outdoor pool high on the property, with a view over the bay.
- Alma Spa The hotel's own spa, Alma Spa and Beauty, for treatments between days at sea.
