The hotel
The artists' hotel.
La Palma opened in 1822 as the Locanda Pagano, the first hotel on Capri. Its owner, the notary Giuseppe Pagano, took in painters, poets, writers and musicians at his villa. Many paid their way with a picture or a poem, and the place became known as the artists' hotel. It stands on Via Vittorio Emanuele, a short walk down from the Piazzetta.
Oetker reopened it on 1 June 2023 after a full renovation. The designer Francis Sultana took the island's 1950s for his starting point, and kept the number of rooms to fifty. In 2026 Casa Tua, founded in Miami Beach in 2001, took over every restaurant, the rooftop and the beach club. It is the group's first address in Europe, opened for its twenty-fifth anniversary, and the spa now works with Augustinus Bader.
- Mare by Casa Tua The hotel's beach club at Marina Piccola, on the south side of the island, with lunch by the water.
- Fuoco rooftop Wood-fired cooking and a lounge on the roof, open in the evenings from late spring.
- Pool and spa A pool deck above Via Vittorio Emanuele with the Aqua Bar, and a spa working with Augustinus Bader.
