The hotel
Made in Venice, room by room.
Violino d'Oro joins three palazzi between Calle Larga XXII Marzo and Campo San Moisè, with a water entrance on the canal. Sisters Sara and Elena Maestrelli, whose family runs the Grand Hotel Minerva in Florence, opened it in November 2023 as the first Venice hotel of their group, Collezione EM. Piazza San Marco, the Doge's Palace and Harry's Bar are a few minutes' walk away.
Almost everything inside was made in Italy, much of it in Venice. Floors are seminato terrazzo laid by an old family firm, fabrics come from Rubelli and Fortuny, chandeliers from Venini, and the vases in the lobby were blown by the Micheluzzi sisters. The architect Piera Tempesti Benelli led the design, mixing antiques, Chinoiserie and contemporary art. Two rooms are adapted for wheelchair users.
- Il Piccolo A dining room of eight tables around the old well in Corte Barozzi, with a modern Venetian menu and plenty for vegetarians.
- The bar Francesco Adragna mixes the Doge's Fizz with Venetian gin and serves it with cicchetti.
- By water Boats arrive at the hotel's own entrance on Rio San Moisè, into a salon of red velvet and mosaic.

Getting there
Flying to Venice.
Venice Marco Polo is the nearest airport; a private boat from the airport pier takes about thirty to forty minutes, our estimate, to the hotel's water door. Private jets also land at Marco Polo, whose business aviation terminal has its own water-taxi docks, or at Treviso, thirty minutes by road from Venice.
