The hotel

The white houses of Humaitá.

Casas Brancas means white houses, and the hotel opened in the early 1970s, when getting to Búzios was still a small adventure. Its lines are Mediterranean: white walls, white floors, whitewashed beams, bougainvillea. The rooms are arranged around courtyards and terraces, and most of them look over the bay. The MICHELIN Guide, which counts it in its hotel selection, calls it more guesthouse than hotel.

It sits on the Morro do Humaitá, above the beach inns and just over the Orla Bardot promenade, a few steps from the statue of Brigitte Bardot. Rua das Pedras, with its restaurants and shops, is about five minutes away on foot. The beaches of Azeda, Azedinha and João Fernandes are close by. The pool and the breakfast terrace both look over Armação bay.

  • The pool terrace A pool on a sea-facing terrace framed by whitewashed beams, kept for hotel guests.
  • Spa Massages and treatments, with yoga and tai chi on weekdays.
  • In town Orla Bardot below the hotel and Rua das Pedras a short walk away.
