The hotel
A peninsula on the Rainbow Reef.
The resort occupies a peninsula of 64 acres at Nukuni Bay, on the eastern tip of Vanua Levu, where the island faces Taveuni across the Somosomo Strait. No road comes in. Guests arrive by boat from the end of the drive, and the Rainbow Reef lies just offshore. Eight villas stand along the water, each with its own plunge pool, for twenty guests at most.
It runs like a private house with hotel staff. Meals are cooked to order and served wherever guests want them: on the villa deck, on the sand, in the Main Pavilion or as a picnic. A welcome kava ceremony opens the stay. The reef has more than 25 dive sites, among them the Great White Wall, and the house reef begins at the beach.
