The hotel

Tony Robbins's estate on the Koro Sea.

Namale belongs to Tony Robbins, the American author and speaker, who keeps it as one of his homes and holds his seminars at a separate property next door, so resort guests are left alone. Now and then the resort itself closes for one of his retreats. The estate runs to 525 acres on the south coast of Vanua Levu, a short drive from the town of Savusavu.

Twenty-two bures and villas sit among the gardens and along the shore, from simple garden bures to villas with infinity pools. The spa stands on a volcanic cliff above the Koro Sea and covers 10,000 square feet. Meals, drinks and most activities are in the rate, and dinner can be served by a waterfall, in a cave or on an oceanfront deck. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are cooked to order with produce from the resort's own gardens.

  • The spa Ten thousand square feet on the cliff, with a hydrotherapy room and a waterfall massage. Treatments are extra; the hydrotherapy is free.
  • Days out Kayaking, paddleboarding, diving and reef walks, a hike to a private waterfall and a visit to a pearl farm.
  • Games on land A nine-hole golf course, a tennis court and a bowling alley, all part of the stay.

Each bure and villa has its own deck; the larger ones add a plunge pool or an infinity pool facing the sea.

  • Bures Garden and Ocean Tropical Bures King beds and private decks, facing the gardens or a lawn running down to the ocean.
  • With a pool Ocean Plunge Pool Bures and Plunge Pool Villas A private plunge pool on the deck; the villas add a hot tub, a four-poster bed and a spa-style bath.
  • The largest Grand Infinity Pool Villas Infinity-edge pools, indoor and outdoor showers and jacuzzi baths, among them the two-bedroom Dream House.
