The city
Two mountains, one village.
Whistler and Blackcomb stand side by side above a village built for skiing, and the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola carries skiers between them, 436 metres above the valley floor. Together they make 8,171 acres and more than two hundred runs, with glaciers at the top of Blackcomb. In 2010 the resort hosted the alpine, Nordic and sliding events of the Winter Olympics.
The lifts are due to open on 20 November 2026, and the season usually runs into May. December to April is the heart of it, with more than a metre of snow falling in the village in each of December and January. Summer is warm and dry, at 24 °C in July and August, for golf and the lakes around the valley.
- PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola The cabin crossing between Whistler and Blackcomb, 436 metres above the valley, with the Coast Mountains all round.
- Blackcomb's glaciers Horstman and Blackcomb glaciers, 215 acres of high terrain, reached this season by a new quad chair.
- Whistler Sliding Centre The ice track of the 2010 Games, built for bobsleigh, luge and skeleton.

When to go
December to April.
Snowy winters in the village, mild ones by mountain standards: highs stay close to freezing from December to February while the snow piles up above. The season runs from late November into May, so December to April are the months to plan around. July and August bring 24 °C days and little rain.
