The hotel
Two crossed swords at Lusail.
The Katara Towers rise 211 metres over the waterfront at Lusail, the new city north of central Doha. Dar Al-Handasah drew them as two curved blades crossing, after the swords of Qatar's national emblem. Building started in 2014. Raffles took one tower and Fairmont the other, and both hotels opened in November 2022, first to guests of the World Cup and the official delegations.
Raffles Doha has only suites, 132 of them, which made it the first all-suite hotel in Qatar. Each comes with a butler, a scent made for the hotel by Frederic Malle and a wall of books. Downstairs, Katara Hall has ceilings of 22 metres and daylight, and Enrico Crippa, the three-star chef from Piedmont, opened his first restaurant abroad here.
- Alba Enrico Crippa's Italian dining room on the first floor of the towers, with one Michelin star in the 2026 guide.
- Raffles Spa Five spa suites, each with its own treatment space and pool, plus hydrotherapy areas for men and women.
- Blue Cigar A speakeasy with a library of more than 6,000 rare books and a cigar collection.
