The hotel
An insurer's offices on the Gran Via.
The hotel fills two buildings on the Gran Via, one from the nineteenth century and an annex from the twentieth, which for years held the offices of the insurer Agrupació. The conversion joined them into one house, and the narrow Juliet balconies of the old façade became glazed bays, each deep enough for a reading seat. The result holds sixty rooms and thirty suites.
Almanac Barcelona opened in February 2018, the first hotel of the Almanac group. Jaime Beriestain, a designer with studios in Madrid and Barcelona, mixed Art Deco with mid-century pieces. The beds were made to order in Austria, the bathrooms are white marble, and the soaps come from Jimmy Boyd, a perfumer in the city. The MICHELIN Guide gave the hotel a Key in 2025.
- Azimuth The rooftop bar, with the Sagrada Família on one side and Tibidabo on the other, and astronomy as its theme.
- The roof pool A pool and sun deck on the roof, kept for hotel guests.
- Almanac Wellness A sauna, heated loungers in a relaxation room, a gym and a treatment room.
