The hotel
A palace for the golf coast.
Hilton opened the Conrad Algarve in 2012 as the main hotel of Quinta do Lago, the estate of golf courses and villas beside the Ria Formosa. The architects of Sigma gave it the form of an eighteenth-century Portuguese palace, six floors high, and the Portuguese designer Miguel Cancio Martins worked Moorish patterns, made-to-measure art and lighting into the interiors. The hotel stands on the road into the estate, near the lagoons of the nature park.
Every one of the 154 rooms and suites opens onto a balcony or a terrace. Gusto, the dining room created with the chef Heinz Beck, holds a MICHELIN star in the 2026 guide. Faro airport is twenty minutes away, and a shuttle runs in season to the beach at Vale do Lobo. Families come for the kids' club and the four pools; golfers for the courses on the estate.
