The hotel
Old Mykonos on the south-east coast.
NOMAD stands about two hundred metres from the beach of Kalo Livadi, on the south coast of the island, among the beach bays east of Mykonos Town. The hotel calls itself a bohemian paradise with a Mykonian soul. It is small: fourteen suites on two floors, built in the clean, rounded lines of the Cyclades, with the dry hills of the island all around.
The craft is local. Artisans from Tinos and Aliveri made many of the stone sinks and pools, local carpenters made the doors, and the vases are left a little uneven on purpose. Driftwood furniture and willow baskets fill the rooms. A gallery inside sells jewellery and ceramics by Greek makers. The hotel belongs to The Bohemians group, and the MICHELIN Guide lists it with a Key.
- A pool of your own Every suite has a private pool or a hot tub, set in its own courtyard or terrace, and there is a shared pool too.
- Cinema and gallery A small screening room with antique theatre seats shows classic films, and a gallery sells work by Greek craftsmen.
- A gym without a plug All the equipment is wooden and works without electricity, with yoga and massage booked in the suite or outdoors.

Getting there
Flying to Mykonos.
Mykonos airport is about 8 kilometres away, roughly 15 minutes by car. In summer, direct flights arrive from much of Europe, and Athens is a short connection all year. Private jets land at the same airport, where in July and August parking is tight and aircraft often drop their passengers and reposition.
