The hotel
All-inclusive, with a star.
Grand Velas Los Cabos opened on 20 December 2016, after a soft opening that November, on the coast road between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. The Velas group built it as an all-inclusive resort of suites only, each larger than 1,180 square feet with its own terrace over the Sea of Cortez. It now counts 307 of them, every one with a view of the water.
Cocina de Autor, the tasting-menu room, won a MICHELIN star in the first MICHELIN Guide to Mexico and still holds it in 2026, with the two-star chef Sidney Schutte and Francisco Sixtos in charge. AAA gives it Five Diamonds as well. In 2026 Forbes Travel Guide raised the resort to Five-Star, and the group says no other all-inclusive in the world holds that rating.
- Cocina de Autor A tasting menu with one MICHELIN star and AAA Five Diamonds, led by Sidney Schutte and Francisco Sixtos.
- SE Spa Two levels and 35,000 square feet, with sixteen treatment rooms and a water journey in seven steps.
- For families Separate kids' and teens' clubs, a splash pad, a playground and a zero-entry pool.
