The hotel

A fishing village on the Caravelle.

French Coco stands in Tartane, a fishing village on the Atlantic coast beside the Caravelle peninsula. The hotel was formerly the Parad'île, and reopened on 1 July 2016 after a renovation of close to four million euros. With the reopening it was accepted into Small Luxury Hotels of the World. There are seventeen suites in four categories, from the Ti Suite to the Suite Presqu'île, and the restaurant, l'Ylanga, cooks contemporary Caribbean food.

The suites are laid out in muted tones and wood, each with a terrace and a small private garden, and all but one with its own pool. Behind them, a garden of about a hectare grows herbs and vegetables for the kitchen, and fish come from the local boats. The Caravelle nature reserve starts at the gate, and a lap pool serves the whole hotel for anyone who wants to swim lengths.
