The hotel
The newest wing of an old resort.
Half Moon has stood at Rose Hall since 1954. In March 2020 it opened Eclipse, a new beachfront wing of 57 rooms designed by the architects Hart Howerton, with seven new places to eat and drink and an infinity pool at the centre. The doors and much of the art were made by craftsmen in Kingston, and old photographs from the owning families hang on the walls.
Hurricane Melissa closed the whole resort in October 2025. Eclipse was the first part to come back, reopening on 2 April 2026 together with the Villas, the spa, the golf course and five of the restaurants and bars. Forbes Travel Guide rates it Four-Star in its own right. Guests share the rest of the estate, some 400 acres: the Robert Trent Jones Sr. golf course, the equestrian centre, the tennis courts and a swimming lagoon.
- The infinity pool A long infinity-edge pool on the beach is the centre of Eclipse, with a natural swimming cove beside it.
- Fern Tree spa Two treatment bungalows stand over the water, used for massages and yoga.
- All of Half Moon Guests use the estate's golf course, tennis courts, equestrian centre and swimming lagoon.
