The hotel
From the beach to the lagoon.
The Ritz-Carlton opened on 15 December 2005 on a site of 144 acres with the beach on one side and a lagoon on the other. Dart, the Cayman group that also built Kimpton Seafire, owns it, and its 69 residences share the grounds. Greg Norman laid out a nine-hole course on the lagoon side, and eight of its holes run along the water.
Champalimaud Design redid the interiors in a coastal style with mid-century British Caribbean touches. The ching-ching bird turns up in the rooms, and the rope lamps recall the island's old rope-making trade. In 2026 Forbes rated the hotel, its spa and Blue by Eric Ripert at five stars for the third year running, the only property in the Caribbean to hold all three.
- Blue by Eric Ripert Modern seafood by the chef of Le Bernardin in New York, on the oceanfront, with its own Forbes Five-Star rating.
- Ambassadors of the Environment Jean-Michel Cousteau's programme for children and families: snorkelling lessons and kayak trips through the mangroves.
- The Courts Four tennis courts and five pickleball courts with coaching, alongside the Starfish Cay water playground.
