The hotel
Heaven, Sky, Earth and Sea.
The resort opened in June 2012 on Bai Bac, a private bay on the Son Tra peninsula north-east of Da Nang, with mountain rainforest behind it. Sun Group built it and Bill Bensley designed it, borrowing from village communal houses, temples, conical hats and the round basket boats of the coast. There are 189 rooms, suites, penthouses and villas, and every one of them looks out over the bay.
It falls down the hillside in four levels, named Heaven, Sky, Earth and Sea, and the Nam Tram funicular, its cabins shaped like basket boats, carries guests between them. In 2026 the MICHELIN Guide gave it its first Key, and readers of Condé Nast Traveler ranked it first among resorts in Asia. La Maison 1888, the French dining room run by Christian Le Squer, holds a MICHELIN star, and the Mi Sol Spa works with sound and tuning forks.
- La Maison 1888 French cooking with a Vietnamese touch under Christian Le Squer, with one MICHELIN star in the 2026 guide.
- The funicular The Nam Tram funicular links the four levels of the resort, from the top of the hill down to the beach.
- Mi Sol Spa Treatments built on massage, sound and tuning-fork vibration, with a yoga pavilion and tai chi.
