The hotel

Garden houses on Ha My Beach.

The Nam Hai opened in 2006 on Ha My Beach, a palm-lined stretch of sand south of Da Nang on the road to Hoi An. The Paris architect Reda Amalou took the nha vuon, the walled garden house of central Vietnam, as his model, and placed the villas by the rules of phong thuy, the Vietnamese form of feng shui. Each villa is walled for privacy.

Four Seasons took over the resort about ten years after it opened. Today there are one hundred villas, each behind its own wall, most with one bedroom, and pool villas of up to five bedrooms with heated pools, a thatched pavilion for dining and a butler. The spa's eight treatment suites float on water, and the old town of Hoi An is a short drive south.

  • The Heart of the Earth Spa Eight treatment suites that float on water, and a ritual each night called Goodnight Kiss to the Earth.
  • Three pools and the beach Three pools along a palm-lined beach, with tennis, pickleball, badminton and basketball courts beside the health club.
  • Street food Thursdays Lá Sen, the Vietnamese restaurant by the pool, cooks a street food menu once a week.
